Important Information:

Rhythmic breathing is safe for everyone but there are some instances where we would recommend not doing the breath retention sequences, this includes:

• Severe/ critical diseases or infections if it impairs your ability to breathe.
• Sever uncontrolled hypertension (usually after a heart attack)
• Organ failure or late-stage terminal illness
• Pregnancy
• Epilepsy, a pacemaker or irregular heartbeat (exception your doctor gives you permission)
• Some conditions e.g. tinnitus, hernias can be aggravated by forceful mouth breathing, prolonged breath holds and prolonged rapid breathing/ hyperventilation. Using the chin lock if seated can help.
