About Yoga
Benefits of Yoga
Regular practice of Yoga leads to many benefits, including healing and rejuvenating all the various systems of the body: immune system, circulatory system, and even the nervous and respiratory systems.
It can help to manage stress, develop ability to concentrate, increase will-power, and allow you to be in the present moment.
Yoga practice gradually leads to a mental and physical stillness that allows the practitioner to feel a peaceful nature that is content and balanced.
Hatha and Flow
This is a yoga practice incorporating postures to assist with the alignment of the body and to open the many energy channels, especially the spine, so that energy can flow freely.
This practice is intended to create a balance of strength and flexibility in the body as well as paying special attention to the breath, which helps calm the mind.
This class is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
Vinyasa Flow
This is a class that is challenging and enjoyable. It connects movement to breath in a sequence of yoga poses. It is designed to cultivate a deep physical opening, absorption of the mind in the rhythm of breath and body, all mixed in with a sense of lightness and fun.
Knowing the basics of yoga is helpful, but not essential.
Recharge and Restore
This is a combination of Hatha and Vinsaya yoga taught in a manner suitable for all, especially beginners.
A great start to your weekend of inner calm and well being.
Restorative (Yin) Yoga
This class can complement an already active life or help those who feel distracted by “mind chatter”.
The practice will allow you to slow down and just “be”. Restorative Yoga is about finding stillness and cooling the body. Balancing our active lifestyle to stay in optimum condition.
This type of yoga is practiced sitting or lying on the floor. There are no planks, no warriors, no core work. No dynamic sun salutations. No standing poses. The pace is slow, so you will need to wear comfortable, warm clothes.
This is a monthly morning class and is suitable for all.
Restorative (Yin) Yoga and Sound Therapy
Join Tanya Main (Yoga Teacher) and Siobhan Elliot (Sound Therapist) to take your Restorative Yoga practice to another level.
Siobhan will use her voice, singing bowls, gongs and chimes as she weaves a layer of meditative healing sound into the Restorative Yoga Practice.
Sound Baths are not recommended if you’re in the first trimester of pregnancy or have had a bone fracture in the last 6 weeks. Please contact us before attending if you have any health problems. People who have a pacemaker, epilepsy, advanced stages of cancer, ear or balance problems might find they are especially sensitive to the sound and vibrations. These events are suitable for people over 16
Sound Bath
Experience a journey of deep relaxation & inner peace.
Immerse yourself in healing sounds which will help to release unwanted thoughts, emotions, stress, anxiety and worries.
Lying down with eyes closed, you are bathed in the sacred sounds of the gong, crystal singing bowls, chimes and other instruments.
Allow the waves of sound vibrations as they flow through and around you, to evoke a deep sense of well-being.
At the end of the session there is a period of silence to allow the sounds to settle within.
